May 2011 - Starting the Day in Style
This month saw a succession of groups joining us to start their day of celebrations with a hearty breakfast. We had 12 fishermen, 16 cyclists, 10 hens, 12 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen... and a partridge in a pear tree!! Just kidding about the partridge.. but to all the rest it was lovely to provide the starting point for your special day(s) and we hope to do the same for many more happy customers. Some of the wedding parties even bought along their own fizz to start the day off with a bang! Great fun, long may it continue & wishing you all well for the future.
June 2011 - Ascot Week
You always know when Ascot approaches - Bracknell turns to gridlock and down comes the rain! However the spirit of the event is never dampened despite such things - i have great memories of last year with a group of ladies starting their day with a hearty breakfast but all dressed in fantastic white dresses! The staff were having wild panics about all the white outfits and possible 'bean juice catastrophes', to such a point that they refused to waitress the breakfasts until all the ladies were wearing fresh aprons donated straight from the laundry cupboard! Phew...with disaster averted the day began in earnest. Lets hope the weather doesn't dampened spirits again this year and a few people choose to start their 'Ascot day' at the Farm Cafe!
Jan / Feb 2012 - A Fast Start to the Year
Well, that was unexpected, a busy start to the year! We took a little holiday thinking January would be very quiet and it seems you all missed your breakfast so much over Christmas that you couldn't wait to come back this month! Bless you, thank you all so much for your valued custom as ever. So, its caught us a little on the back foot - we don't usually have many staff on until the bedding season starts in March but it looks like we need to get some extra staff in again now, hopefully that's good news for anyone local who wants a few hours work a week and who knows where it will lead?
Staff Vacancy - We have a firm vacancy now for around 12 hours a week Tuesday to Friday plus some ad hoc cover clearing tables on the weekend. This is classed as a Kitchen Assistant role which is mainly dishwash and clearing up but can include assisting with waitressing food or drinks and re-stocking displays as needed. If you have any experience we definitely want to hear from you, we can even look at apprenticeships or NVQ's for the right applicant.
