Of course its too early to talk about Christmas but if you don't start booking your Christmas Lunch with us soon, all the places will be gone! We're half full already from last years pre-bookings & its only October! JOBS AUGUST 2019 - We are Hiring! Immediate Start

As we say 'Cheerio' and 'Good Luck' to our staff leaving us for Uni we are now recruiting for Weekend staff. We're looking for :

2 x Saturday Staff - between 9am and 4pm

2 x Sunday Staff - between 10am and 4pm

Experience is preferred as you will need to work on the till and as a Barista - however we can have 1 experienced and 1 new on each day. We take applications from 15 years old upwards for the non-experienced roles. Winners of the Thames Valley Hospitality Award 2018 - 'Best Breakfast 2018' 

Yes we couldn't quite believe it either when we received a phone call from the local press and then a local TV station, Thames Valley TV. Apparently our lovely customers had been voting in their thousands for us to win the Best Breakfast Award. We were short listed and invited along to the awards dinner - it was very plush & exciting! It was quite embarrassing to be nominated alongside some very well known hotels & restaurants, with only 2 other cafes in a category of many, I think we were all wondering what we were doing there! But no - it was a customer vote & ultimately their choice  - so the roof nearly blew off with all the cheers and screams as we were voted the "Winners of the Best Breakfast Category"! Our teams work so hard trying to bring quality, taste and finesse to what is essentially just breakfast & brunch - but they do it under immense pressure, hoards of customers and a very short time frame for service! They do an amazing job and this customer vote was really just rewards to show them their hard work is noted and appreciated. Well done team & thank you to Thames Valley Hospitality for running the awards and to Thames Valley TV for coming along & interviewing us - am sure it's on YouTube somewhere!! Our award now sits proudly in the Café, Thank you again xx

​Themes, Seasons & Chef's Specials!

Wow that was a crazy one!!! Where do you all come from? Well - judging by all the new developments surrounding us I would say everyone from the guys building the new homes, to their bosses and the new families moving in - we've seen you all this summer and so a very warm welcome to you all! We've seen a real upsurge in numbers of weekend Breakfast customers (if that was even possible!) - which is lovely as it shows how the people of Wokingham are getting out as a family and treating themselves to a bit of sit down family time over their Bacon & Eggs!  Our homemade cakes & savoury pastries have been going like crazy - we seem to be always baking just to keep up! And lastly this Summer saw a big up-take in our 'Chef's Specials' as our lovely customers have been experimenting away from their standard lunch & breakfast to some more exciting options! We've been making Handmade Burgers, fries, wedges, lasagnes, meatballs, garlic breads. We've made pies, pastas, quiches, frittatas and special salads galore with every concoction of avocado, chicken, asparagus you can imagine plus everything seasonal in between. We've had Coeliac Week, Sourdough Month, British Food Fortnight, Seafood Week, Chocolate Day and Veggie Day too - any theme you can imagine we've had a dish to celebrate it! So if you love real food, cooked from scratch - why not pop along and try our weekday Chefs Specials - they get rave reviews too!
